Here come the first blockchain smartphones: What you need to know

We going to have a blockchain smartphone, this will be a huge event for cryptocurrencies industry. I'm not sure whenever it will be similar to Ledger device. The article also mentioned that the data on the phone will be encrypted. The encrypted phone tends to be running slower and using more battery too. Hopefully by that time phone CPU and batteries can catch up with the demand.

While blockchain is a peer-to-peer secure networking technology over which data can be exchanged anonymously for a myriad of business or personal transactions, the encryption behind the electronic distributed ledger also means if you lose your private key, you lose your data – forever.

HTC didn't offer any details about how it would enable key recovery on the smartphone

What happened if someone lost the phone? Let's assume they have a backup data for that phone how do they transfer existing data from the old phone to the new one. What kind of password will be required? A 25 random and a combination of words, numbers.. or a self-made password. Maybe its too soon to judge.

Why would you need a phone that has blockchain technology? Not sure what it will add.

It's interesting how Robinhood added Dogecoin nearly half a year before LTC or BCH lol

It seems to be preference. Sometimes it looks like companies make pretty stupid decisions.

Moving on, here's what I have got to say to the first link: Block Hedge Bangkok: Asia’s Blockchain & Cryptocurrency Event in Thailand Details

The one day event focuses on the future of Blockchain Technology, finance and investment, regulation & governance, successful past and future ICOs, security threats and considers how decentralization continues to disrupt sectors like banking and supply chain.

Cryptocurrency promotions should get a lot of exposure to convince average people to venture on the idea of digital money and how it will soon impact our day to day living. The convenience, as well as the security threats should be transparently laid out for the individuals in order for them to know what measures they would need to take to avoid or lessen the risk of being scammed and worst case scenario hacked.

While most countries are unsure on adopting cryptocurrency as legal tender of transaction, Thailand on the other hand has emerged to be one of first few countries to introduce special law for cryptocurrencies.

I would not be surprised. Thailand's economy has been pretty stable owing to the fact that their tourism industry is pretty much increasing every year, if I am not mistaken they are soon to hit th 40 MILLION tourists/year mark. Imagine with cryptocurrency, it will catapult Thailand as one of the best places to visit in the world because along with the beautiful scenery and lavish entertainment that has continuously attracted tourists, the usage of cryptocurrency will make it all the more very convenient for tourists.

Link: China Cracks Down on $1.5B World Cup Cryptocurrency Gambling Operation

Online gambling has been an issue in the past, nothing new to this. It just got an upgrade. LOL. Also, online gambling exists not in China alone, I believe this is a worlwide problem. Even before the proliferation of digital currencies other modes of payments were already used.

Gambling is a reality whether we like it or not. I gamble all of the time. I only gamble with money that I know I can lose without jeopardizing my family livelihood ( paying for food and rent). I can imagine free distribution of money to be a problem for central government as to how to tax that money going through those mechanisms.

Countries that are friendlier to cryptos will attract money and projects into those countries. However those countries need to be stable. Secondly I think cryptos will have to pay some kind of taxes to central government to keep basic functions going.

From the news last year of a real estate accepting only bitcoin, i never knew its because he was trying to avoid IRS, which is very smart of him, the fact is, the blockchain has finally come to stay, the beauty is that it offers a new challenge to this century, banks wants in on this, govt also wants in, it has come to stay.

..

I laughed my ass out while reading this common, dogecoin is already accepted as a mode of paynent in russia, things like this will never stop. They give more popularity than the news gives.

I spoke to a teacher yesterday and mentioned that I am in cryptocurrency. She proceeded to say that she heard that they’re making a coin for Chuckie Cheese (a children Game Center). Disparate comments like these are hampering acceptance of the technology.

Cultural differences wouldn't let me perfectly grasp what you're saying, but on a serious note, there are now so many coins out there, airdrops, token for all sort of things, the teacher might be right though, that's my point. That's if she's not actually making fun of you.

Chuckie Cheese is a place little kids go to play video games and arcade. They hand out coins.....

ZCASH, CARDANO, STELLAR, BAT AND 0X INCREASE OVER 10% BEFORE POSSIBLE INCLUSION IN COINBASE

I have read Trading app Robinhood adds two new cryptocurrencies despite bear market.

I have heard of Robinhood before as an application that makes buying and selling stocks easy. It is a platform meant for small-time traders and people who do not want to spend money on trades.

It is interesting to see them add more cryptocurrencies to the platform. I wonder how other platforms like Coinbase will respond? I use Coinbase myself as it is easy to despoist and withdraw money.
