There are new forms of blockchain technology attempting a balance between centralization and decentralization. Some day one may be able to position oneself where one wants to be regarding trust, safety, and other variables.
Crypto-secession is coming :-)
There will be a blockchain to suit every level of risk tolerance and every taste as to which regulations to live under.
I do agree that the solution is somewhere in the middle until these technologies become seamless and thus the end user won't be able to notice their participation.
Nice post. Pure decentralization is an illusion but there will be tradeoffs.. current society is too full of middlemens that suck the wealth to others to do basically nothing.. banks, insurances, certificators,.. and many money related activities will be completly changed by the blockchain(s)
