Introduction

Blockchain technology and cryptocurrency have been creating lots of opportunities for individuals and organizations. Since its inception in 2009, it has been spreading like wild fire and more and more organizations are embracing this awesome technology in making their operations more efficient. But there are some limitations to the adoption of blockchain technology. One of such limitations is the technicalities surrounding it. Organizations or individuals hoping to utilize this technology would need good programmers that understand the technicalities involved in utilizing such technology or be willing to cough out huge sum of money to seek the services of a programmer before they can participate in the blockchain revolution.

The technicalities involved in the utilization of blockchain technology is preventing individuals and organizations with specific ideas directed to a particular group of people from utilizing the efficiency of such technology to create communities of interests where individuals from all around the world sharing such interests can come together to share ideas, launch and support projects using such awesome technology.

But this limitation to the creation of community of interest using blockchain technology has been solved by a platform known as Native. Below is a summary of what native is, what it does and how you can become part of it either as a community creator or as a member of a community that interest you.

What is native?

image (3).png

Native is a platform that is built on top of the ethereum blockchain that makes it possible for people of common interest to come together under one umbrella in form of a community to share ideas, visions, launch and support community projects. With native, individuals or group of individuals can create communities and attract like minded individuals to such community. They can also create their own currency that they can use for operations or project support in such community.

How The Native Platform Works

The native platform is designed for easy navigation of its users. This platform is loaded with tools and templates that meet the demand of any community that would be created on the platform. Individuals or organizations hoping to create community of interest with this platform are given all the tools to create their communities and community currency without having to learn the technicalities involved in blockchain technology and cryptocurrency.

Individuals that hope to utilize the native platform to create their own community and currency would need to own some amount of the native currency(NTV). This currency will serve as the base currency for all community currencies on the native platform. After owning some native currency, they would be given administrative access into the community to create their own community and currency using the tools available on the platform.

Also, those that wish to become members of a particular community would have to secure the currency of such community to become members of such community. The native platform has an easy navigable dashboard where those interested in joining communities can search for communities of their interest. The platform also gives community members all the tools that they would need to participate in community such as decision making, voting, supporting and contributing on community projects, etc.

Some core features of the native platform are given below:

Unique community token:

Community created on the native platform has its own token. The community token allows the community to accept members to the community, create community resource pool and serve as a medium of exchange within such community. All activities and reward allocation in a community will be in the community token.

Polls:

The platform also has some unique tools that enable members belonging to a particular community to vote on polls that would be used as feedback to such community. Members can show their support or dislike for a community decision through vote on polls.

Projects:

Every project that a community is going to pursue would be decided by members. The platform makes it possible for members to contribute on a project and also decide on what project the community should channel its resources to and how much of such pool resources should be allocated to the given project.

Tasks:

Members are also given the opportunity to complete tasks in a community in exchange for community tokens. This is one of the means through which community members get reward for functions performed in a community.

Conditions For Community Approval On The Native Platform

Native has put some conditions in place that needed to be met before a community can be approved on the platform. This is done to create check and balance in the system and prevent unscrupulous individuals from rubbishing the system.

Some of the conditions are:

  • Curators’ trustworthiness and determination to make the community work.

  • Value assessment: do members value such community and its mission?

  • Number of members: how many members does the community have? Are people interested in joining such a community?

  • How much does such a community have in its reserve? The more members a community has, the more such community is likely going to have in its reserve.

  • Members’ activity levels: how active are the members of such a community?

  • Are there any added benefits of being a member and participating in the community? Etc.

These are just a few of the conditions that determine the approval of a community on the native platform. Native wants genuine and functional communities on its platform so it had to put these measures in place.

Benefits Of Utilizing Native Platform Either As A Community Creator Or As A Member

Below are some of the benefits of utilizing the native platform either as a community creator or as a member;

  • The platform will make it easy for you to connect with fellow individuals of like mind

  • The platform would make it easy for people with community ideas or project to gain support for their projects either in form of raising capital for such project or having fellow individuals with interest in such project contribute on how best to implement such a project.

  • People without blockchain knowledge can be able to create projects on the blockchain and reach out to large number of like minded individuals through the native platform.

  • People would have easy access to belong to and support communities that they truly care about. etc.

Types Of Users On Native

There are two classes of users on native. They are the curators and members.

Curators:

Curators are individuals or group of individuals with community ideas. These individuals are the ones that launch communities and create community currency on the native platform. They are the pioneer of a community. They know the initial vision of a community and perform administrative roles in communities to ensure that only ideas that support the vision of the community are shared for members’ consumption or contribution.

Below are some of the core characteristics of curators on the native community:

  • They are the administrators of native communities

  • They have the deepest knowledge of the community’s initial vision

  • They act as filter in the community to ensure that only beneficial contents are added for members to view and vote on.

  • They approve or deny work created by community members. Etc.

Members:

Members are individuals that join communities based on their interests, values and goals. These individuals belong to a community be purchasing the community currency and the moment they do that, they have every right in the community to make decision in that community. Members make decision on how capital will be spent or which community project is worth investing in through a voting system. They also have the power to replace a curator that is not doing its job properly if necessary.

Below are some of the key characteristics of members in a community:

  • Members join communities they share the same goals, values and interest with.

  • Membership grants all the individuals or members in a community certain rights or privileges.

  • Members make crucial decisions on capital deployment and community direction.

  • Members also have the power to replace curators.

  • Members have the freedom to join multiple communities if they desire. etc.

The native token (NTV)

The native token will serve as the base currency of all the other community currencies on the native platform. Communities will need to have a reserve in this currency because this is the currency that would be used to control the native ecosystem. Communities can exchange community currency to the native currency and vice versa.

Some Early Adopters Of The Native Platform

Native Launched with 6 Pilot Communities:

  • Earth Guardians is a Boulder, Colorado based non-profit that engages young people in programs to empower and amplify their voice, specifically around environmental justice.
  • Imaginal Films is a community of conscious film enthusiasts: filmmakers, viewers, and funders convened in one digital ecosystem to collectively develop, produce and distribute conscious films.
  • SDG Futures is a decentralized and distributed communities and technology stack for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
  • Peace Accelerators is a New-York-based non-profit that is committed to accelerating the spread of global peace by using a community-driven, tech-centric, and future-forward perspective to devise solutions that leverage emergent technologies for the betterment of humanity.
  • DOLO is a decentralized open learning organization working to iterate towards a future of smart education that is more open, agile, and rewarding for all stakeholders.
  • The Rick & Morty Crew is a collective of fans committed to embracing all things wubalubadubdub! <

Use cases

Use case 1:

Kelvin is an animation expert and has an awesome animation idea that he would love to share with fellow animation lovers and experts. But there is no way for him to have access to fellow animation experts and lovers on a single platform where they can share ideas, engage in projects and support one another.
He heard about the native platform and decided to create an animation community through the native platform. Within a very short while, he has animation experts from all over the world sharing ideas and supporting projects on the community that he created on the native platform.
Kelvin was able to achieve his dream of bringing both animation lovers and experts under one community and this was made possible by the native platform.

Conclusion:

Native is an amazing platform that would allow individuals bring dreams to life by creating communities in line with their dreams of interest by utilizing blockchain technology and also enable other individuals to share in an individual’s dream by belonging in same community with the dream creator. This will enable individuals raise fund for their ideas, gain support from others that are interested in such ideas and also tap from the knowledge of fellow experts in such a community. This is a laudable initiative that should be supported by everyone.

hi @resuscitate

I just had a chance to read your review related to this project. I must admit I've never heard about NATIVE until now and it did attract my attention.

Would you consider it being useful for someone like yourself (or me) to have an account on this platform? Can I use it in any way to help our Steemit community grow?

Just wondering, obviously upvoted

Yours
Piotr

Native is a new project. You can use it to create specific community where you can share ideas and projects with like minded individuals. The platform also offers community creators the opportunity to create their own token that they can use for activities and projects in their community. There's more to it. You can check their white paper if you wanna know more.
Thanks for your support
