I would also like to warn people about TREZOR.. They say that they are the safest crypto storage out there.. But let me share with you a recent experience. We had over 100k stored on our trezor. Only ever used 1 trezor only ever had 1 set of seed words. The recent update wiped the trezor… I wasn't too concerned as i have the seed words in several safe locations and did a dry test a while back.. Once i recovered i was left with a wallet from October 2017 with around 2 dollars in it… Reaching out to trezor has been useless.. customer and tech support is zero. I hired a private tech and after 1 month he worked out there was a previous bug in their updates and it wiped the old seed words and generated a new set of seed words automatically… We have over 100k sitting on wallets and they can not be accessed… Your money is not safe on Trezor. They don't allow you the private keys to each individual wallet.. Just a set of seed words that cover the entire device. I had several accounts set up inside and can not access the individual wallets. My suggestion is stay away from this overrated USB stick. Use a seperate mobile device offline and store in something like BITWALLET or Bread etc or Electrum… Its a real reality check that while this happens everyday adoption is a lifetime away

Referencing back to this post about the shorts starting to cover:
August 27th: “Shorts are starting to cover after hitting previous short highs dating back to March-April when we were just under $12k before we took a 50% dip.”
Shorts are continuing to cover but the buying longs have taken a dip at the same time, interesting to see this happen at the same time.
Current levels seem stable thus far, appears that both sides want the other to move first at these levels before making any brash moves forward.
Would make it appear that the shorts covering are actually the ones keeping this level set at the moment...

There would be indeed a way to prove this. They have to show your (the client) seed and a hash of the server seed before the roll.
After the roll they have to reveal the unhashed server seed. One could prove with the hash of the server seed that it did not change.

Just to give you some background information of our solution, HODLONG is an IPFS type network built upon webtorrent. The application works by signing the stats on the server and clients as a trusted network and then verifying them via eos contract. This allows for a paid storage and retrevial mechanism.

That post is a few versions old (we're on 0.5.1 now), but the section in that post in relation to Cold/Watch wallets is still relevant. Watch wallets can create unsigned transactions, which can then be transferred to an offline computer, signed by a cold wallet offline, then transferred back and broadcast to the EOS network with the watch wallet.

EOS for flight planning

A decentralized, user-driven aviation flight planning app would be a great fit for EOS. The existing solutions out there are crappy and expensive. I develop some backend solutions for the industry and know the needs. AC-U-KWIK is a horrible, expensive existing solution.
There's enough public info out there - combined with algos I've built - to create something good enough to draw in lots of users quickly who would then be paid to make enhancements. Pilots would love to geek out and provide Intel on routes and prices at the 29,000 airports globally. Ground service providers would update their info for free advertising (existing solutions make them pay heavily to get listed). The more people your contributions help, the more you get paid. Consensual mining of other cryptos on users' cpu is another potential revenue stream.

In a recent post where Dai interest was announced. I think this is powerful especially with 2 pct money markets in the USA. Is Dai the only stable coin that earns interest? If so you might really get people to start saving money in Dai!
Along these lines I would love to see Dai added to the dash wallet as a stable coin. If they want to be leaders in commerce they need a stable coin in their wallet.

But I think if the stability fee is 2.5%, and at least 0.5% go to MKR, then that 2% can make it exactly a store of value - US has a inflation rate close to 2%.
Anyway it is gonna be much better then what bank of america provide. An 0.02%.

Is an invite-only cryptocurrency a good or a bad idea?

A friend of mine recently invited me to an invite-only cryptocurrency called Merit. My initial reaction was lukewarm, at best. First, he was kind of pitching it to me, which immediately makes me dislike it. Second, I didn't really understand why you'd make something invite-only that should be focused on getting lots of users.
The more I think about it, and argue with him, the more I'm coming back to a neutral (or maybe positive) place. The arguments in-favor of being invite-only are things like having a safer/stronger community and having less scamming BS happening. In Merit's case, the other interesting thing is that the invite-only dynamic creates a new form of mining (Proof-of-Growth). Counter-intuitively, their community and usage seems to be growing pretty fast.
The arguments against include adding a layer of complexity to something that is already hard for most people to understand. Also, managing the dynamics of "invite tokens" seems like a challenge -- too few, and people can't share; too many, and they lose their value.
Do you think an invite-only crypto can work? If so, why? If not, why not? Any other invite-only cryptos out there?

Dash is a decentralized currency project based on a fork of the Bitcoin protocol. With a unique system of governance and transaction settlement, Dash offers lightning-fast private transactions with a minimal transaction fee. They are able to do this thanks to a unique system of user-run nodes, commonly known as “masternodes.”
How do masternodes work?
In the Dash system, masternodes help settle transactions, increase the anonymity of transactions, vote on Dash budget funding proposals, etc. The masternode system is referred to as Proof-of-Service because the masternodes provide crucial services to the network. Although Dash still relies on a Proof-of-Work block validation mechanism, the entire Dash network is overseen by the masternodes, which have the power to reject improperly formed blocks from miners. For instance, if a miner tried to take the entire block reward or run an old version of the Dash code, the masternode network would orphan that block, and it would not be added to the blockchain.
