It seems like the next logical step in [Centralized] VPNs is Decentralized VPNs.. or dVPNs, as you called them.

Instead of Centralized VPNs that may log data, dVPNs are almost like a game of 'hot potato', where data is sent to individual nodes (but may still be logged until the system gets more complex, dividing data between nodes and allowing for TRUE ANONYMITY).
