Africa Will Be Transformed By Cardano (ADA)

Hello! people, hope you are having a great time, it is great morning here in Cameroon. I am @akomoajong, popularly known as Simcard and as always, I bring to you reports related to Cryptocurrency and Blockchain adoption across Africa.

Today's report has to do with Cardano (ADA) and its vision for africa.

Cardano (ADA) has made its intentions known that it aims to improvise and improve the societies and technological conditions in underdeveloped countries. This aim is also very clear from their tours around Africa and with their #TransformAfrica motive in countries such as Ethiopia and Rwanda.

John O’connor, the director of African Operations at Cardano says Charles Hoskinson, the CEO of Cardano talked about his vision for Africa and other underdeveloped countries during a TEDx event in 2014 and that made him to join the Cardano project.

Cardano had signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Ethiopian government that will permit them to train and hire fresh Ethiopian software developers that will help to implement Cardano blockchain in the agricultural sector of Ethiopia. This idea to implement blockchain technology in agriculture is the first of its kind in Africa.

Also, John O’connor showed his appreciation to a few members of the Ethiopian government that together with the Cardano representatives signed the MOU:

I’d like to thank Yodahe Zemichael from the Science Technology and Information centre and Dr Getahun Mekuria, Minister of Science and Technology. You have been more agile, proactive and enthusiastic patners than we could have hoped for. We look forward to working with you.

This training is scheduled to commence in September at the end of which the trainees will be hired based on their performance in contributing to Cardano’s code and/or their creativity in building blockchin agricultural applications.

Cardano plans to extend this it influence to other African countries and this looks great from where I'm sitting.

Yeah I saw Charles Hoskinson had come to Rwanda last month(even talked about it in a post) but I had no idea he had such grand plans for the African continent. Probably time I should look him up more seriously and if possible purchase some ADA though I'm not really bullish on it so far.
Cheers for the informative post :)

i'm not sure if this can have an effect on the ADA market yet, maybe in the long run. Anyways, are you a Rwandan? Because your comment indicates you're in Rwanda.

If their plans in Ethiopia are successful then I'm sure that news will reach the mainstream media and possibly give them a boost in prices, but who knows. And yes I'm Rwandese and it's where I'm currently living :)

Definitely!, Ange. Oh!, Good to know you're in Rwanda at least i now have a friend in Rwanda. I appreciate this interaction

Same here :)

This is great news; addressing user issues right from the grassroots. However, my concern is the real Cardano product! They have a human face and support humanitarian causes but an afraid they need a defined product for more adoption and traction. What's your thoughts?

Yeah, i totally agree with you @gigpen. Cardano had announced their plans to create a smart contract platform but we are still waiting for the testnet. Maybe these Ethiopian developers might assist in realizing this.

True, let's hope it happens fast before their popularity tumbles.

Sure!, it will be perfect if they realize all these plans.
