3: The Future of the Altcoins Futures according to CME

Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME), one of the world's largest exchanges, launched Bitcoin Futures trading on December 17 , a week after the introduction of Bitcoin Futures by its main competitor Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE).

CEO Terry Duffy revealed in an interview with Bloomberg that CME will not introduce futures on cryptocurrencies other than Bitcoin in the near future. Indeed, these are very volatile and new, and the company can't just list products for trading in order just to see what will happen.

Duffy also said that the company should first evaluate and develop an approach for Bitcoin - Bitcoin Futures "could have been the most controversial product launch".

CBOE's Director of Product Development, Dennis O'Callahan, revealed in an interview with Cointelegraph that they are definitely monitoring the other markets" to ensure that the infrastructure and everything is in place in case we want to pursue other cryptocurrencies.
