ETHBuenosAires Recap

The first was ETHWaterloo in Canada, the second was ETHDenver in Colorado. ETHBuenosAires is the third leg in the ETHGlobal series and the first in Latin America. This time around we see the gamification of dApps as many projects incorporate tokens to be used within the games. After a weekend of hacking and #BUIDL here’s a list of some interesting projects that came out of this past weekend.

Token Toilet

Do you have unwanted airdrops or a pile of shitcoins you no longer want or need? Introducing Token Toilet - a dApp created to flush away your unwanted ERC20 or ERC721 tokens. However, there’s more to it than just getting rid of your excess tokens. You can spend 5 Dai for a mystery box and receive a random ERC20 or ERC721 token. The 5 Dai will be going to charity while you receive a random prize. These tokens can be anything from a CryptoKitty or anything else that was flushed away. However, certain foundations such as Cryptocup have donated valuable tokens to incentivize users to donate to charity while have a bit of fun!

Tu Cedula Digital

Currently Venezuelans are unable to get assisted aid since the government refuses to acknowledge that there is a crisis going on in their country. However, a Venezuelan team came up with an idea for “Unstoppable Conditional Cash Transfers” that would allow citizens in need to receive money without the approval of the government. The project uses uPort and the Transaction Permission Layer Protocol to check if the user is Venezuelan and eligible for the cash transfer. By having the user submit basic pictures, it will reference the government database API and issue a self sovereign Venezuelan ID to their uPort account. By having this system, parties can validate the identity of the members using this program.

Crypto Against Humanity

Cards Against Humanity, but with a crypto twist. For those who don’t know what Cards Against Humanities is, it’s a card game where user will answer a question (or fill in the blank) with answers they drew and the funniest (or worst) one is chosen to be the winner. Based off token curated registries where people vote for which black cards get posted, and anyone can create white cards as tokens to vote with.
