The FBI asks for information from the victims of the Bitconnect case

The FBI released a questionnaire for victims of the Bitconnect scam, a Ponzi scheme that collapsed in 2018, causing heavy losses for investors.

On its website, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has asked people who have invested in Bitconnect cryptocurrency (BBC) to fill out a short questionnaire in order to deepen their investigation.

Victims are invited to share their identity, the way they knew Bitconnect, and the name of the person who encouraged them to invest in the project.

Bitconnect was launched in 2016 and promised huge returns on investment. The company used aggressive marketing and a high-paying sponsorship system to encourage people to invest and sponsor others.

In January 2018, two regulators in the United States wrote notes in which they suspected Bitconnect of being a Ponzi scheme. Two weeks later, Bitconnect closed and the BBC price collapsed by 92% in a few days.

The form is available here and sent to investors around the world, not just to US citizens.
