India: Government plans its own crypto currency

The Central Government is considering a proposal to introduce its own crypto currency like bitcoin, reported a leading business daily.

The crypto currency will fall in the domain of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and some Acts such as the Currency Act might have to be amended.

    I m sceptical about this move....
    All bitcoin / blockchain / Crypto coins movement is all about decentralisation, about fair economy. About Govs not be able to manipulate currencies, etc etc.
    And this Indias "cashless sociery" and "cryptocoin" project, looks like a step back....
