MyEhtherWallet phishing attacks leaves investors in deep waters.

Hey there Steemer's and Crypto friends, please be careful with your Ethereum, MyEtherWallet is experiencing enormous phishing attacks almost 216 ETH was stolen.

https://www.myetherwallet.com, The website was not hacked however the phishing attack took place due to Google public DNS being compromised. The majority of people that were attacked was using Google DNS, there was a pop-up indicating that it is imitating the MEW portal.

The CEO Kosala Hemachandra of MEW stated that they are in no means responsible for the attack that took place, he has asked to ignore any reddit or portals stating that they will be reimbursing the stolen ETH on their behalf. Kosala Hemachandra also stated that users ignored the warning signs, he also said if there was no warning sign and if the community thinks that MEW is responsible for the phishing attack that took place, then they will consider reimbursing the stolen ETH.

Kosala Hemachandra has also confirmed that MEW is having enormous phishing attacks on a daily basis. There are more than 6500+ Domain names that are similar to MyEtherWallet. MEW are planing on creating a hardware wallet which will be free to download and use. This will help create a P2P connection with MEW and use a private key which will not leave users phones.

Honestly from where I stand this does not look good at all, therefore I have transferred all my funds away from MEW to a more secure Ethereum wallet such as Jaxx, I think that investors need to consider if their funds are really safe with MEW with regards to the attacks taking place. I believe that MEW should have already had security measures put into place to avoid this from happening.
