Facebook Plans to Launch Their Own Cryptocurrency
News outlet "Cheddar," just announced on May 11th that Facebook is plans to launch an in-app virtual coin. Facebook is extremely serious about having a crypto token. This information comes from the head of the messenger app David Marcus. Marcus will transfer a heading dedicated blockchain research group.
I personally find interesting because about a month ago Facebook banned all cryptocurrency ads so it doesnt make sense why they would make a cryptocurrency themselves. Hypocritical? Then again, it is also possible that Facebook wanted to deflate the price of Bitcoin by banning ads so that they may pick up some Bitcoin.
