Will ethereum COLLAPSE?
Are you watching ethereum right now?
It is on 255 USDT at the moment and the price goes down.
As an economist, I expected this scenario so I didn't put any money on it.
The main reason: I did't believe that exponential price increase of more than a 5000 percent in a five months is normal.
Yes, there was some adoptions and companies are trailing ethereum, but in my opinion this can't explain market trends.
Also, Vitalik Buterin, Ethereum founder, many times emphasized that he is skeptical about this (new) price. And who can understand better the cryptocurrency, than the one who made it?
My expectations:
- trend will be changed soon
- in a short run price will be more volatile
- price will fall even more
So what do you think? Will ethereum collapse?
This is normal for ethereum and most crypto currencies. Have we not learned from Bitcoin. ETH is a long term hold and has great potentials. Don't watch the price everyday. Just hold and you will be surprise what the price will be next year or 2 years from now. What was the price last month and what is the price now? We are still up. HODL

But, in this blog post I wrote about trading - buying and selling in a day, couple of days or weeks in order to make a profit in a short run.
At the other side, you are speaking about investing, that is buying and holding in a long run.
Also, even though you believe that ETH or any other currency is a good investment I assume that you do not want to pay the highest price. Do you agree?
Agree with you about trading. The problem trying to buy the low prices for Coinbase customers is not possible because Coinbase always goes down:(
We really can't watch and worry for ETH every day. It is an experiment and it should provide great value over time but it will be volital until it is better understood and scaled to it's community, and that could take another year or 2, so it's best to be patient. Meanwhile there will be new competitors and that is very interesting to understand its biggest competitors.

I believe that price will fall, but i also feel that every dip in the price would be a good buying opportunity. There is a pressure on the price and the network due to the Initial coin offering revolving around ethereum.
Additionally, short term pressure was built because the death rumours of Ethereum co-founder.

Price has fallen to 252 USDT and now (less than a 20 minutes from publishing a blog post) it is on 263!
Do you believe in my estimates now?

I know the feeling! Even though I am telling myself that trading cryptos is gambling, sometimes I just can't let it go.
True dat! Investing is boring! Cryptocurrency gambling is sometimes frightening, but less often boring!
I think maybe some central banks have some secret hedge funds working to reduce the price........or some whale is cashing out.
This sounds very likely. I mean we can never know for sure, but for it to drop down to .13 cents or whatever it did is crazy!
In the last months everything increased like crazy, so some correction is expected. My opinion is that all the major crypto currencies will still increase in value and volumes all year long.
Also, it will be interesting to see what will happen when the economic crisis will hit.

Today, I decided to write an individual posts about every coin I believe in. I invest only in coins that in my oppinion have a potential in a long run. Right now, I am in Lisk, MaidSafeCoin and Golem. But my portfolio consists of more than a 10 cryptocurrencies. :)
I am all new to this. I am thinking Lisk, Ripple, Dash, and Litecoin, but I have limited resources for this "game" right now, so I am very curious how much to invest in what.
Please consider making a post about investing for beginners with specific information. After going through articles about investing on the Internet, I see it is full of general advice about investing in cryptocurrencies that is as hard to follow for new people as no advice at all. There is not a lot about the current state of things. I'd be happy to read something like "investing for newbies" on a monthly basis - treating the audience as if they are newcomers every single time - with specific currency names and, maybe, suggested sums of investment for different categories of risk takers.
Just an idea. If you have the resources to make it happen, consider me a dedicated follower (and just a follower for now =) ).

Next, and the week after I will try to make more followers because I don't want to throw energy on writing something that no one will read.

I hope you get your followers because I am very much interested in the topic. People like you - and posts from specialists like you - are exactly who/what I want to read here. I also firmly believe that's what Steemit desperately needs right now - a diverse range of content. I mean, pictures of food and pretty girls in revealing clothes comprise only a percentage of the interests of a 7-billion-people planet, right? =)
