Japanese Designed Bitcoin Miner Specs Released

GMO Internet a Japanese IT giant has recently released prices and specs for its new ASIC bitcoin miner that is based off a 7nm chip.

The miner dubbed as GMO B2 miner was designed in Japan but was manufactured in Taiwan.

Using the smaller transistor size chips gives more hashing power compared to their nearest rival bitmain.

It is said the the Japanese bitcoin miner has a hasing rate of 24 TH/s with a power consumption of 1950W per unit, while its main competitor Bitmain’s Antminer S9 offers 14TH/s at a power consumption of around 1,300W.

However, B2 cost is around $1900 and the Antminer S9 is only $837.

GMO Internet Masatoshi Kumagai said that he respects Bitmain but they will top them. Exciting times for Crypto Mining Space.

Universities In The US Are Investing In Cryptocurrencies

A lawyer in Capital Fund Law Group, John Lore who specializes in cryptocurrency hedge funds has revealed that some universities are taking up position in the crypto space in modest amounts.

He said that he could not divulge the identities of his clients but hints that most of these universities are located in the east coast area.

He further explains that crypto hedge funds were coming from high net individuals and although lesser frequency family offices.

This seems to corroborate the research conducted by the deVere Group recently which indicated the almost 35% of high net worth clients have or plans to invest in cryptocurrencies.

Binance Invested In ESports Platform

The widely considered largest cryptocurrency exchange in the world, Binance has reportedly invested into Blockchain-based esports voting platform chiliZ.

The announcement was made June 5 2018 in the official medium blog-post of chiliZ.

This was confirmed by no other than the CEO of Binance Changpeng Zhao in his twitter account implying that the investment was a token of appreciation for all the help from chiliZ.

ChiliZ is based in Malta and said to be part of Mediarex Group.

Last week, Binance has revealed plans of creating a $1 Billion cryptocurrency-base fund that will be using its own native token BNB as an investment tool.

US Telecom Agency Seeking Feedbacks On Blockchain

The US agency, the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA), has reached out to stakeholders to provide feedback on Blockchain and other emerging technologies and trends.

The US agency wants to know in what capacity they should participate in the international discussion of these issues. They want to get feedback until July 2 via a dedicated contact channel.

Feedback is broadly pertaining to internet governance on Blockchain, freedom of information online, privacy and security.

Denmark Joins The European Union Blockchain Partnership

Denmark is the latest European country the joins the European Union Blockchain Partnership.

It joins 22 European Union (EU) member states that support Blockchain technology and seek to create a common European infrastructure.

This Blockchain partnership was formed last April 10 in 2018.

Denmark’s business minister, Brian Mikkelsen, signed the declaration stating that Denmark is joining the partnership.

He reveals that Denmark in the past has researched Blockchain technology in the past and is said to be the first country in the world to use Blockchain to register ships in its national registry.

He also added that a common European cooperation is crucial for future-proof standards and solutions
