The industry has come across many problems in recent times. One of the most glaring challenges is the effect of subscription video on demand (SVOD). Organizations such as Netflix and others has led to the use of cables to deliver quality entertainment. However, the use of cable only rely on the efficiency of the internet and we wouldn't want to be watching a scary movie and it just got stopped on the scariest part of the movie as a result of the internet. Furthermore, the Bloomberg news also reported that the major factor that leads to the drop in theatre population is as a result of a weak line up of cinemas.
The streaming of videos today requires a lot of cost to the service providers of the video content. This will not be exposed to the world but it is true. The content service providers pay a lot of cash to the Internet providers based on the bandwidth used.

In order to provide long-lasting solutions to the problems facing the entertainment industry, Slate introduced Binge and Slatix.
