No coin lasts forever
Hello steemians!
While dabbling around on whatsapp, this list above was dropped in one of the trading groups I belong to.
It is a screenshot of the coins in coinmarketcap.com as at 2013.
Many of us were not into cryptocurrency back then and therefore may be surprised at how different the market looked like.
Many of the top 10 coins, except for XRP, LTC and BTC, no longer occupy even the front page of coinmarketcap.com.
Any coin without a usecase and a purpose, or with a team who is interested in making money instead of providing value will eventually wither and die away.
Since 2014/2015 Ethereum, bitcoin, LTC has held their places as top 10 coins.
LTC seems to be the latest coin to undergo a change in policies and direction and frankly, I personally am not holding any LTC, not when the founder himself Charlie Lee sold all his coin at $322 around last year's boom on a crazy notion that he wanted LTC to be "truly decentralized" and to avoid "conflict of interest" .
For me, I believe Charlie sold his earnings cause he had achieved his aim, and only continues to push LTC for some as of yet unknown reasons.
Today, the MCap of LTC has been eaten up by EOS and stellar lumens, and continues to drop, only having a value of $60+ right now.
Coins can disappear forever, that is evident by the disappearance of namecoin, novacoin, primecoin etc
In the end, only the useful survive.
I have high hopes for steem, ETH, a t the moment, things are being done and hopefully, with all tge improvements and values coming out, we will see a radical change in the top 100 coins on CMC by next year.
Will Steem survive,this is still an unknown
If steem can survive going under $0.1 around april last year, it can survive anything.
Its a coin with a platform and a dedicated team

Whenever someone claims to improve the market, then the market declines. Now tell us how long will this day run and improve the market soon

Yeah, if you go to coinmarketcap.com and you check under services, there is a history chart you can check out, from 2013-2018, all the events thst has happened and what prices were around those dates, crazy stuff

Hmmm, so bitcoin was at this amount as at 2013? The crypto world is really unpredictable... Lets still keep calm and still wait for the surprises it has for us this time around, thanks for sharing @destinysaid
