What is Imusify

The Imusify platform is designed to provide artists with autonomy, higher income, and transparent transactions between service and product suppliers. Imusify’s open-source, self-publishing platform also creates an efﬁcient and lucrative system for content creators to network and collaborate, while maintaining complete control over their work.

Before discussing more about Imusify, I’ll tell you about the problems the music industry is facing. The industry is facing a streaming problem “The leading streaming music companies like YouTube/Google, Spotify, Soundcloud, Apple and others – have been routinely accused of treating artists poorly through duplicitous contract structures and low payment – Digital Music News”.
The truth is Artists live under the constant threat of leaks, most artist prefer to publish songs at their own time but because of this problem, artists are typically forced to publish their songs immediately. The key problem that needs to be tackled first is the centralized nature of the industry, which creates three key challenges for artists: digital rights management, payment transparency, and licensing and monetization1.

This is a set of access control technologies used for restricting the use of proprietary hardware and copyrighted works. Is this a problem? Yes, the lack of a comprehensive rights management regime creates several problems for managing artists’ digital rights, from lost revenues to misattribution of ownership. Even if today artists can now produce, distribute, and market their work almost entirely digitally they still have little control over ownership and security of rights.

Payment Transparency
Payment transparency is a problem to the music Marketplace which arise from the centralization of the royalty distribution system. Performance rights organizations conduct the process by collecting royalty payments from streaming services and then allocating payments to artists based on royalty rates set forth by organizations like The Copyright Royalty Board.

Licensing and Monetization
In the music industry, Digital music services do not have efficient systems in place to obtain and keep track of all licenses related to the varying types of digital consumption: radio, on-demand streaming, radio-like streaming, digital purchases and more. The laws surrounding Licensing and Monetization are far outdated.
