See the market from a different perspective

While trying to find ways to cope with the horrible market conditions of the past months, and after realizing I was not going to sell at a loss, I realized Coinmarketcap can be very deceiving for long term investors. The chart below will show you the prices based on USD. Pretty red right?

While Bitcoin, Ethereum and others can have their own intricate value given the fact they are established in their own blockchain, ,ERC20 tokens are defaulted to USD comparison. Since the exchanges don't accept USD, why don't we review them using the currency used to purchase the tokens? What if I switched from USD to ETH?

Interesting, the top ten tokens have all been performing using ETH as a point of comparison. Call me crazy, but if these tokens are mostly ERC20 tokens, shouldn't we based growth by comparing them to their immediate "parent", instead of the undervalued dollar?

So, instead of looking at the dollar value of my tokens like $MAN, I started looking at the value of the token in ETH. While CMC shows a decline in the USD value of the token, truth is, my MAN have been performing beautifully in the past week.

If you are a long term investor like me, I suggest you unclick the line graph for USD and look at your tokens based on the value of their current blockchain. We can only hope one day all of our tokens become their own ecosystem. Just then you can compared them to other valuable measures.

The USD is also manipulated by monetary policies. While there are no whales around messing with the dollar, there is a thing called the government (let’s call them the Megalodon). The Megalodon chooses what policies to incorporate, and the dollar devaluates because of tax bills or government shut downs (let's call it FUD). What is the point of being decentralized and still use such a subjective point of reference? In 2017 the dollar lost about 12% of its value (according to tradingeconomics.com) and its declined is the longest fall in the past 14 years. Why do we choose to compare ALT coins to a measurement that is so bearish?

On another note, I just notice Matrix AI Network finally showed the proper market cap and circulating supply in CMC not bad to begin with lol!
