Let’s face it. In this torrent of ICOs it is getting increasingly difficult to determine if any of them are worthy of your time or your money. As investors, traders, and flippers, we are tasked with assessment of potential that is more frequently detached from any speck of reality.

Universa Blockchain seems to be a fairly well-architected business-oriented blockchain ecosystem. That puts it squarely in the category of XRP, XLM, and XEM who, not coincidentally, are there primary near-term competition. The main differentiation offered by Universa has to do with their real-time transaction processing capability, which is inherent in their blockchain architecture. They also extend this by developing a secure Android thin client (mobile app) that will enable a wide variety of mobile crypto transactions.

The dev team is credible. They have the right mix of developers to get an ecosystem of this magnitude up and running. Although they are based primarily in Russia and Lithuania, they appear to have strong linguistic and design sensibilities that will definitely allow them to be credible in most markets.

The whitepaper goes into a reasonable level of technical detail. I’m awaiting the pricing structure of the ICO to make my final judgment as to whether to invest, but since they are going for $90 million, I am expecting them to be looking for a fairly substantial personal commitment.

Universa has taken a page from some of the more recent successful funding rounds that included referral bonuses (Electroneum being the most notable).
