1- Coinhive, the in-browser Monero cryptocurrency miner, made famous by cryptojackers announced that they will shut down operations on March 8, 2019.
The two biggest reasons behind this decision are the Monero hard fork and the crypto bear market.
2 - The internet outfits, including Facebook, Telegram and Signal, are planning to roll out new cryptocurrencies over the next year that are meant to allow users to send money to contacts on their messaging systems, like a Venmo or PayPal that can move across international borders.
