1- Co-founder of Ethereum (ETH) Vitalik Buterin criticized centralized exchanges, saying that he hopes they will “burn in hell. Buterin has reiterated his positive stance on decentralization, claiming that by developing “better” decentralized platforms, the crypto community should be able to take away the “stupid King making power” from centralized crypto exchanges.
2 - The South Korean government has stated its intention to facilitate a favourable regulatory framework for cryptocurrency use, adoption of blockchain technologies and trading in general.
The information was shared by the Korea Times, mentioning that financial regulators are seeking to establish a set of “unified regulations” compatible with the policies promoted by G20 member countries.
3 - It would appear that the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has decided to look a bit more closely at companies who use misleading names to try and promote an artificial uptick of stock value in what could be termed blockchain fraud.
4 - Expedia, the online travel agency that has been one of the largest merchants to accept bitcoin since 2014, has quietly stopped accepting the cryptocurrency, forcing users to seek alternative travel services.
5 - Western Union Company, an American Financial Services and Communication company filed a new patent with the US Patent and Trademark Office. The patent aims at ‘receiving and handling secure transfers’ in the electronic transfer network space which includes the transfer of cryptocurrency or digital currency from one device to another from different locations.
