There’s a new crypto project in town ..well not quite new.. it started in October 2017 by the hand of Alexandru Ionut Budisteanu , an Europe Forbes 30 under 30 nominee entrepreneur and inventor. It’s about a cryptocurrency called WebDollar which is native to the browser like it’s founder likes to describe it and which pretends to be what bitcoin never was… They have an young and impressively well prepared core team which includes Alexandru Ionut Panait -platform developer, Cosmin Dumitru Oprea -protocol developer, Adrian Stratulat -evangelist etc.
Currently the project is in finishing stage-test net-with the main net about to go live in a couple of hours. In fact, right now, there is a countdown on the main page marking the exact time of the launch. The project has no ICO, it only had a bounty program that has now finished and planes to develop by itself, like bitcoin did, by mining and launching on the exchanges.
So, how does webdollar works and how pretends to improve the bitcoin technology?

To start minig webdollar is very simple. You don’ t have to download anything, simply open a browser-Chrome , Firefox, Safari, Edge etc.- and type webdollar.io . Is the main page of the project where you can find detailed information and the whitepaper of the project . When the page opens, automatically a wallet will be generated and in a few seconds you will be consensus, connected to the nodes and ready to mine your first block .
I have to underline that the algorithm of mining is Argon2d which is ASIC resistant and GPU unfriendly . Practically you can mine only with your processor, keeping away the guys with the big ASIC machines and GPU farms and letting the great majority to grab their part of the cake… There is no need to achieve expansive machinery , you can use your own PC or laptop or mobile phone.
Starting to mine, once consensus, can be done by moving the level of the mining bar that you can find on the left side of the screen. The power of mining can be adjusted according to the number of the cores of your CPU.
The usage of the wallet is also very simple.. you just click on -the wallet will be displayed on the right side of the screen – and it will open, letting you see the address and the amount of webd you own. You can encrypt it by clicking on the lock icon and set a passphrase of twelve words or randomly generate one. Once the passphrase set it will be saved in a text file that you can keep in a safe place. Also you can import the wallet by clicking the arrow pointing down and transfer the webdollar file that will be crated on any other device of yours. You can mine also on mobile phones with Android or IOS operating system, right into the browser or using the webdollar app from the Google Play or Apple Appstore.

Once the mining started, the team will be looking to put it on the exchanges, like Nimiq did. Dont' t worry about it, it's a legit project..the exchanges will come...i think a big one, bittrex could be on the list. In just a half an hour the minig will start. Happy mining!!
