Stellar Lumens Unveils a New Brand Logo

in #cryptocurrency5 years ago (edited)

Here's a quick question: Do you see a cartoon rocket ship in use at some central bank or in a press release from a national monetary authority in the future?

If your answer was no, then you might understand why the team at Stellar.org went ahead to have it changed. If you loved the old logo like me, don't take it personal, just some good ol' plan for long term sustainability and business.

The new logo was announced on the 11th of March 2019, just 2 days from the time of writing this post. It is an upgrade of the old one and obviously comes with a few perks. Stellar wanted something that can well represent the brand as a simple, open network and a recognized symbol of monetary unit, just like the dollar, the Euro the Bitcoin signs ($, € and ₿), and every other recognized currency today.

So, over many iterations, we played with the negative space. And the stroke weight. And rotated the logo around so it looked a little like an “S”. And, you know, where one line is good, two lines is even better…so without further ado, we present the new Stellar logo:

Thoughts?

I think it is brilliant for a change, and it might even become a wise decision for other cryptocurrencies that aim to be adopted as a standard monetary unit to have some kinda symbol too. Whatever, this is just an opinion as i'm not exactly sure of the pros and cons of not having a symbol yet.

So, What do you think about the new logo and the possibility of other cryptocurrencies rebranding? Let's talk about it in the comments below.
