If you have funds on the bitfinex platform and live in the U.S., be sure to withdraw them as soon as possible.

If you are a U.S. account holder you will get the below message from bitfinex advising you that depostis have been suspended and to withdraw your funds.
They do not give a time frame as to when they will lock out U.S. users outside of saying a short "grace period" so be sure to pull out any funds if you use the bitfinex platform
Frustrating Regulations
This is frustrating because I like the platform and the possibility to go long or short a crypto coin.
The rest of the world go have your fun trading and investing in crypto as you please, we in the U.S. are being grounded by our good ol' Uncle Sam!

Pretty admirable that Bitfinex gave an advance warning.
Bittrex didn't do that.. they just cut you off instantly subsequent to their verification procedure.
My question is at what point did the internet becomea geographical jurisdiction and state/federal regulated? Did we miss something or is this the new way of life?
It appears now before you login, search, browse the internet, and buy and sell, you now need to check with your state Senator first to ensure you are not violating any statutes or laws.
The internet is easy to reach. To be legal is quite difficult it seems.

There have been so many crack downs on Bitcoin this year. Wasn't there also news that the IRS was tracking Bitcoin transactions? This is getting crazy. But of course, great opportunity to invest in other cryptos.
Yeah, this is more a decision of the platform to not deal with all the extra red tape and rules U.S. investors bring to the table as opposed to being specific to bitcoin.

You should. My IP address is usually Florida cos it's the fastest (or something) but I sometimes get blocked with crypto stuff cos it thinks I'm in the USA, so I have to turn it off or pick a different country. After a quick hit of the refresh I'm good to go.
