History of HOLE, OTC, Presale, Launch. Next Steps!

History of wormhole starts from my meeting with Mr.Pepe of PepeYugi. We started a partnership based on the principles of trust and ethics as co-developers and wanted to create a playground for experimentations. This group would be owned by us for others to invest in some experimental DeFi coins and make money and we would learn more about the space! Our first attempt was Blackhole.

What is Blackhole?

Blackhole idea was simple, create demand through volume, volume demand would come from some rewards, and each time there is rewards — there should be a burn. So we came up with the following list of features to try out.

Each Transaction will have a fee of

  • 1% Dev Fees
  • 1% burn
  • 4% to distributed to next 5 wallets — 2:1 ratio for buyers

Challenges and History

Enter Experiment #1: $HOLE — BlackHole

This was our first attempt our ask was to raise 25 ETH hardcap — we got 18~ this was our first scene and didn’t have much rep. 18 ETH we raised from folks who knew us in tg and understood that we aren’t ruggers.

Result: We got a classic pump and dump, there was an issue with the contract around every dex charts showing large wicks falling from the sky…. the weightage wasn’t as what we wanted it to be like…. We went from 60 telegram users to almost 150. No Bots as the tg was called degen_plays at that time. We told the community the issues and we decided to raise for another presale for v2 — we couldn’t do a swap because liquidity was locked. We also started projects ready to fork and try their own shit haha.

Enter Experiment # 2: $HOLEv2 — BlackHole

Presale — 50 ETH Hardcap— raised in 5 mins;

Result: Uniswap after presale. TG grew to 600 people. Everyone loved the token. We had a huge whale dump us to below presale price, then the tokenomics did it’s job and slowly we pumped our way through the next 12 hours. Everything was perfect — then the fire nation attacked. I mean bots!

The end of HOLEv2 — Bots found an exploit made very small negligible orders to buy or sell 0.0000000000000 HOLEv2 — doing so allowed them to be on a farming slot to get airdrops. Which meant, they were giving nothing and taking everything, once he has accumulated enough — he will dump the price. On top of that, bots were frontrunning tx to capture high airdrops. We took a snapshot and made a difficult decision. This individual was either in UK or Asia as the bot kept running even after we announced snap has been taken and we are moving on. He lost a good amount of money and we were able to mitigate risk as he didn’t get time to dump his coins until it was too late.

We couldn’t do a swap because liquidity was locked; we had no choice but to do another sale. We had supporters and we had complainers but we tried our best to make correct ethical choices.

The beginning of WormHole (HOLEv3)

We decided to do an OTC for snapshot holders. We broke the OTC down into Group A,B,C — those with the top coins will be in group A, middle majority will be in B, followed by C. After a lot of manual effort — we sold out our hardcap on OTC for 50 ETH.

We then did a presale for 50 ETH — knowing well this will be a final version and protecting large dumps from whales was important. Presale sold out in 1 minute. No marketing, just word of mouth and trust from community that we are going to do it right.

Code Changes: Speaking of doing things right, we had to iterate and introduce fixes to challenges of HOLEv2. We had set a minimum to avoid the farming slot but the BOTs were always a question, so we created a function that will not allow BOTs to sell if they bought. A dangerous tools in the wrong hands but a great tool for such a scenario.

Locked Liquidity: We didn’t want to make the same mistake of locking liquidity for long period of time and doing another presale for our community that put a lot of trust in us. So we pre-handedly had told them we will lock for 2 days to ensure things are going as expected and will lock again for a year once all the txs on our tokenomics are crisp. In 24 hours — we will mute our tg channe: wormhole_group and proceed to lock for a year, we hope any fudsters joins the channel and watches to be proven wrong. We also hope this increases legitimacy within the crypto ecosystem.

It takes years to build rep, moments to lose it, all though we are anon, our tag names have reputation itself.

What’s after Liquidity Lock?

We still haven’t done a real marketing campaign — expect for of that when all things are order

DxTools are looking into the wicks issue as it is likely on their side… ChartEx and Astro are not showing such issues (they were for HOLEv1). We reached out to them to let us know what we’ve done wrong to cause such issues and are waiting for feedback.

We will be introducing a new feature in the upcoming month regarding wormhole as well.
