Even The Rich Feels Bitcoin Is Too Expensive?

in #cryptocurrency7 years ago

Yesterday, Friday, the Head of International Monetary Fund and one of the most powerful woman in finance sector, Christine Lagarde, told CNBC that bitcoin is too expensive for her at the moment when she was asked whether she would consider buying into Bitcoin.

This same powerful woman few weeks back stylishly defended the digital currency, saying it will give fiats and monetary policies a run. She also made mention of how experts alleged in the past that PCs will never be embraced or used and tablets will end up being used as expensive coffee trays, which made her think it won't be a wise decision to disregard digital currencies and it would be necessary to pay huge heed to the market.

It is interesting to know that digital currency is really generating lot of interests in the world and possibly will be highly adopted globally, in the future or even very soon. What are your thoughts on Christine Largade's perspective?

I like that it was concise.

Well, it depends on what she meant. If she meant that btc is overvalued, she is wrong. But if she meant that it is expensive like gold is expensive, she is right.

Thanks a lot @sadekj ... The truth is bitcoin is still cheap now as it is and apparently, only time will tell. if she feels the importance of bitcoin is being overestimated, then she contradicted herself with her remaining statements. Probably, she was just kidding anyway, about not buying because it is too expensive so as not to disclose too much about her plans.

It seems really strange. She's seems to be saying that on one hand it's an important technology with huge disruptive potential, but on the other hand it is overpriced. Cognitive dissonance?

Maybe she bought a lot secretly, but doesn't want to admit it publicly. Future taxes and all...

So many of them obviously have been doing that and probably do not want to admit it due to their position. Check out Jamie (JP Morgan's CEO) who came out openly to create FUD and ended up handling bitcoin related trade for client. What can we call that?

hii, Nice Post.
