You know 2018 is going to be huge for cryptocurrency when John Oliver spends over 25 minutes talking about it.
We're seeing more and more 'old school' media picking up about Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency. We're seeing more and more 'newer school' media picking up about it as well. We're seeing more and more BIG tv shows spending time on the subject.
I've been saying it throughout 2017 and more and more is pointing to the fact that 2018 will be HUGE for cryptocurrency!
Yesterday John Oliver spend over 25 minutes in his "Last week tonight" segment on HBO about cryptocurrencies. The whole bit is funny but he also points out a few things really well. I've been calling the crypto sphere the "crypto Wild West" ever since I joined Steemit and it was nice to see John using that reference as well. There are a lot of things to be cautious of which he points out really well. Overall though, in my opinion, the segment is really well balanced: The technology is great and shows great potential, but there are dangers and the crypto sphere is a highly speculative one at this point in time. He highlights FOMO, FUD, HODL and scams.
The thing is, it doesn't really matter what he actually says about cryptocurrency... all news is good news. And we know for a fact that this episode has reached millions and millions of people and will reach millions and millions more over the coming days and weeks.
For us crypto enthousiasts the future is clear as in we all know cryptocurrency isn't going anywhere. The blockchain technology is here to stay and many projects are already revolutionizing the world. The uncertainty for us lies in the fact that no one can know for sure which projects will still be relevant in x months or years from now.

Good Day @valderrama, I agree that we are seeing more and more media coverage on cryptos. It’s nice to see something positive once in a while, instead of a constant barrage of FUD being dispensed by the talking head, naysayers that Control the fiat monetary system. It is way too early in the game for people to get discouraged simply because the market is stagnant, or because it happens to be experiencing growing pains. I got in late in 2017, and my only regret is that I didn’t get in sooner. My sons told me about Bitcoin and Dogecoin, but I didn’t listen to them until the end of last year. That was my folly. One of my sons told me about Lisk when it was around 10 or 12 Cents, and look at it today; it’s currently $15.00 and has been as high as the mid $30.00 range not long ago. But at least I’m in the game now, and I plan to stay with it and continue to stay involved while it grows and transforms the future. Thanks tor the video, I’ll watch it. Happy Cryptoing.
