🗞 Bitcoin Hovers Over $3,850 as Most Top Cryptos See Losses
Saturday, March 2 — the top 20 cryptocurrencies are reporting minor to medium losses on the day to press time. Bitcoin (BTC) is hovering just over the $3,850 mark again, according to Coin360 data.
🗞 Unconfirmed: Goldman Sachs-Backed Crypto Payments Startup Circle Seeks $250M in Funding
Goldman Sachs-backed cryptocurrency finance firm Circle is reportedly looking to raise $250 million of funding in a combination of equity and debt. The source of information are claims made by an anonymous person familiar with the company’s plans, as cited in a report by technology news website The Information on March 2.
According to the article, Circle — which generates revenue from trading fees on its cryptocurrency exchanges (Poloniex and the institutional offering Circle Trade) — has seen a decrease in its proceeds after the overall crypto market crash lead to decreased trading volumes. Still, in an interview with The Information, Circle’s co-founder Jeremy Allaire claimed that the company’s revenue grew between 2017 and 2018 despite the fall in crypto prices.
🗞 Ethereum Foundation Director Sets New Vision for Blockchain Non-Profit
“When the Ethereum Foundation was founded, the Ethereum Foundation was ethereum. People in the Foundation were the ones that were building ethereum. Now, that’s not the case.”
That’s Aya Miyaguchi, executive director of the Ethereum Foundation, the non-profit organization founded and dedicated to the continuing development of the world’s second-largest blockchain by total value.
Since Miyaguchi’s appointment in early 2018, however, the ethereum platform has faced severe market turmoil, with the price of the blockchain’s native cryptocurrency, ether, dropping from a high of roughly $1,100 in early 2018 to roughly $130 today. Further, it’s seen rising competition in the form of new blockchains touting more advanced smart contracts and more sustainable decentralized application infrastructures.

So yesterday I was saying you that the correction was perhaps already finished. I was little bit too much optimist but nothing really wrong, we are now held by the support line at 0.39$ and we are consolidating a litlle. We need to see if the drop will really stop at this point and if the UP continuation takes place soon for new highs.

I am so surprised that we are still seeing such a flat growth from crypto after all this time for something that was so volatile. Have we reached some sort of equilibrium or was there just too much market manipulation in the past?

Might take a hunt up to 3850-3900, more likely breaks to the downside...we need to retest the lows to confirm if 3100 was the bottom or if it has further to go.

Well I read the comments about trading, but what it really got me it was the study about the 11 and 16 years old kid... Makes me think slot in something that we can use as example latter on...

That ETH experiment kind of blew me away. I guess kids become cynical, pragmatic, short term focused and loose their curiosity when they reach adulthood. It's kind of really sad to hear. But on the bright side those kids who still had enthusiasm will be doing part time jobs in few years and will be adults working in the economy in another few. By the time we'll have acquired more crypto. So on a personal level I can see the advantages. I guess those of us on the latest developments in tech never fully lost the child inside us.
That's why we seek the best and new stuff. We are the ones who seek new horizons. When talking about crypto I should try to engage with those little rats more. I haven't had much success with my age group (90s kids)
I'm just happy to see Steem moving in the right direction. I wonder how many people are pissed that they didn't sell Bitcoin at $20k?
