🗞 Bitcoin Price is Stuck Below Key Hurdle For Fourth Week

Bitcoin is having a tough time scaling a key moving average hurdle that has kept the bulls in check for four weeks straight.

The obstacle that is proving so hard to beat is the 10-week exponential moving average (EMA), which stalled a rally attempt from around $6,100 in mid-September.

Since then, BTC has notably failed to produce a weekly close (Sunday's close as per UTC) above the EMA, establishing it as a crucial level to beat for the bulls.

🗞 Mastercard Awarded Patent for Partitioned, Multi-Currency Blockchain

Mastercard has been awarded a patent for a method to partition a blockchain, making it capable of storing multiple transaction types and formats. The patent filing was published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) on Oct. 9.

The document explains that in current blockchain systems, the transaction records stored in the different blocks that comprise a blockchain are “often required to be of the same format and include the same types, and sometimes even sizes, of data.”

🗞 Coinbase Exec Says Japanese Crypto Crackdown a ‘Good’ Thing, Awaits Operating License

As it awaits its Japanese operating license, an executive from leading U.S. crypto exchange Coinbase has made positive remarks about the country’s toughened stance towards the crypto industry.

In an interview with financial newspaper Nikkei Asian Review published Oct. 10, Coinbase chief policy officer Mike Lempres said that talks for obtaining the license are "going well" with the country’s top financial watchdog, adding that the regulator’s focus on security is “good for us.”

Japan’s GMO Internet Group has announced plans to issue a yen-pegged stablecoin called GMO Japanese Yen. Already in the crypto exchange and mining hardware businesses, the company plans to launch its third crypto enterprise with this stablecoin.

🗞 Justin Sun Says Upgraded TRON Will Be Faster Than Ethereum, Cheaper Than EOS

The TRON Foundation is currently completing a mainnet upgrade of the TRON blockchain, which includes TRON Virtual Machine (TVM) and its smart contract functionality. Founder Justin Sun tweeted his anticipations for the platform yesterday, telling Dapp developers that TRON would be for them.

After achieving community support for the Odyssey 3.1 mainnet upgrade, the update is progressing, appearing to go smoothly so far. It includes the launch of TVM, an application environment that will allow developers to create and test applications and smart contract functionality before going live on the TRON mainnet. TVM is compatible with the Ethereum blockchain and will also allow developers to code in Solidity, the Ethereum-developed programming language. The TRON Foundation has plans to make TVM compatible with EOS and other blockchain networks.

Today, we touched and tested the MME50 (violet mobile line) and it created a little bounce. I like to check this line because most of the time, when we break the MME50, it means that we are changing of trend. So till now, we can consider that we are continuing the UP trend that we started some days ago. Let's see if it will be confirmed with the next candles.
