Cryptocurrency Adoption Will Not Happen
Been wondering why Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency has not been massively adopted yet as a means of payment. I thought for sure that we, the people, realizes the great benefits and keep us in control of our finance.
Unless
Mass adoption of crypto currency as a form of payments will not happen unless the peace, faster TPS, ease of use, and crypto education happens.
Peace
Everyone in the Ct (Crypto Twitter) knows very well about the fighting between the Bitcoin Core and Bitcoin Cash groups. Each are very much in love and believe in their own coin. They think that one is better than the other.
If everyone just leave each other alone or support each other. Who cares which coins is faster or has the best tech or security. As long as it is massly adopted, I am all for it.
But people are people. Can't change that. We humans probably do not deserve the one cryptocurrency as of yet because we are too prideful and stupid to realize that we all should support every coin that is trying to be the 'one'. Look at the bigger picture folks.
Faster TPS
Just think of Visa or Mastercard. Do you wait 10 minutes after swiping your card to pay for your groceries? I bet you do not. Imagine paying with your Bitcoin for a cup of noodles? Just think of the line your holding up.
I do realize that there is now the Lightning Network but to my knowledge it is hard to set up for the end users. You need to almost be a coder to actually understand LN.
Ease of use
Let's face it, people are stupid and lazy. We want things easy for ourselves as much as possible. We need something that even my Mother can understand to use. She is not dumb, very literate in fact, but, she doesn't know what a GPU is, even if it hits her in the face.
Again, let us use the credit card as an example. The bank send it to you and all you have to do is to activate it over the phone or online. Off you go, shopping spree. No need to carry your set of 50 active keys, just swipe and go. All this without any knowledge of line commands.
Crypto education
People assume that Bitcoin is for people who deal with drugs and/or illegal activities. Results of fake news. We all know that this is not true. It is in our best interest to talk to our friends and family about them. Assuring them that it is the best sound money ever invented. Plus they don't have to pay taxes if ever it gets adopted. Just like here on Steemit.

Here in California, nearly everyone has heard of bitcoin, it has been accepted as a reality by all. Last Christmas was a real turning point, imo. The banksters ran up the price, then crashed it, but it got it all over the water-cooler dialogue. From realtors to housewives, everyone was talking it up when prices were over $15K.
When you mean accepted, do you mean that we all put our savings into it? Or do you mean accepted as a possibility for future means of exchange? I think we're there on the latter, not sure we'll ever get there on the former. Not me at least, I have bitcoins on a linux laptop and if that crashes, not sure I'll ever really ever be able to get them back. I've lost photos from disk crashes, not sure I'm going to take a chance with savings. Prices are too unstable and the fees were (are?) way too high to use for coffee.
My steem transactions are faster than paying with a credit card, if I could use the steem network for coffees I'd do it for sure. Its still a bit beta, but lets see where we are in 5 years. Society takes years to adopt things often, a whole new means of money could probably take a bit more.
I think the change in acceptance since 2008 has been astronomical.
accepted like when everyone knows that the price for a cup of coffee is about 0.0005 BTC. just like how we know that a cup of coffee is around the $5 range. But for that to happen, cryptocurrency as a preferred payment solution, it has to be better than the current financial system.
fees are way too high for BTC to be used as a medium of exchange. that is the major argument BCH had preaching.
that's why i love steem, TPS are so much faster than most and free. yup you are right about society adopting things. although it had lots of coverage last December yet people are still blinded , manipulated by the FUD from major bank players. In reality, they are just trying to get in at the lowest price possible.
