Institutional money - Is that what we really need

Digital money supported by a decentralized algorithm which verifies each transaction. Funny thing is money is used to buy and sell stuff whereas crypto currencies are only used to buy and sell other crypto currencies.
I see at least one article every day about how and when institutional money is going to enter the market and it will change the digital currencies forever, but is that really what this technology need right now.Isn't actually being used as a currency more important than anything else?
Maybe I am too naive but I don't really understand why no one is focused on when these coins will actually be used as a currency without being converted to $$ or €€.
I agree with you that the use of crypto and the improvement of the technology are the most important things right now. Most people just talk about institutional money because they want a price increase like last december.
But I also think the institutional money can help to increase the use of crypto. When institutional money enters the market it can help to improve the knowledge and the reputation of crypto.
