I've got something here specially for you. It only takes a few minutes to read and digest it.
For those of us not aware, NFT is simply an acronym for 'Non-fungible Token'. Permit me to borrow an apt definition here for clarity.
A non-fungible token (NFT) is a type of cryptographic token that represents a unique asset. NFTs are tokenized versions of digital or real-world assets. They function as verifiable proofs of authenticity and ownership within a blockchain network. Source
There you have it. So non-fungible tokens are a form of crypto assets otherwise known as crypto collectibles. These vary vastly in design and they have distinct properties.
Cryptoskulls
Cryptoskulls are a recent addition to the already vast collection of collectibles that exist on blockchain. Characteristically, crypto skulls are 10,000 in total supply, 10 of which are known as skull lords which are 'legendary hand-drawn images' with unique properties. These collectibles are actually unique art works with index properties which indicate the attributes of their features.
Technically, cryptoskulls are erc-721 non-fungible tokens/collectibles. They're compatible with the ethereum blockchain network, and are minted by cryptoskulls project.
Apart from the NFT (cryptoskulls), the cryptoskulls project has it's own currency(fungible token) known as SKULLS which can be found on the minter blockchain. So far, this token has two major use cases viz
1* It is used as an in-game currency in cryptoskulls project applications and those of their partners.
2* It is used as a medium of exchange for the cryptoskulls collectibles in nft marketplaces.
