Searching the Globe for Crystals
So I traveled to the heart of northern Vietnam to one of the most prolific areas for crystals and rocks. A town called Luc Yen in the middle of marble mountains. This was an amazing journey. For the last 25 years this place has been the mecha of stones coming our of Vietnam. From them being all over the ground to now they are being birthed on the daily. There is a weekly market and many stores. I must warn you. Bring your bargaining shoes and tie them tight because they are used to foreigners getting excited about shiny things and they want to sell them for high dollar. They start at a price of 2,000,000 d and you can walk away with them for about 350,000. We had a great night and ended up playing music with a group of about 7 shop owners all night. They got us pretty drunk and then the next morning was when we went shopping. So they new us a little and that helped with some of the pricing, yet they still tried their hardest to sell them for as much as they could. Coming home blessed and gonna make some sweet jewelry for my summer adventures.
