Imbayah festival is an old ritual at Banaue, Ifugao which is often celebrated during the month of April after every 3 years. This is considered as one of the biggest cultural festival of the said province. It was started in the 70's and was originally an elite celebration.

What does the word IMBAYAH means?

Actually, it was a term for the RICE WINE which is locally made by the residence of Banaue themselves.

Some activities during the imbayah festival.

  1. Banaue wooden scooter race.
  2. Cultural dance compitation.
  3. Wood carving compitation. Banaue people are well-known for their skills in wood carving.
  4. Sewing compitation, and other enjoyable activities.
