Silat Cimande is a flow of maenpo (Pencak Silat Sunda) in the area of ​​Kolot Dance, Cimande, Bogor, West Java. Cimande is a martial arts stream that is old, big, famous and has an influence on other streams on the island of Java. Cimande has five aspects: sports, arts / culture, martial arts, spirituality and medicine. The last aspect of treatment includes massage / or Cimande style massage and treatment of fractures.

Silat Cimande is one of the oldest martial arts streams that has spawned various martial arts colleges in Indonesia even abroad. Many versions describe the founding of this martial art, all Maenpo Cimande communities agree on who the inventor Maenpo Cimande was, all pointing to Abah Khaer (writing there: Kaher, Kahir, Kair, Kaer etc. Abah in Indonesian means Eyang, or in Great Grandfather English). But what is often debated is where Abah Khaer came from and where he studied Maenpo.

According to Mr. Rifai (Pencak Silat Teacher Cimande Panca Sakti in Jakarta in 1993). Pencak Silat Cimande flow was first created from a Kyai named Mbah Kahir. Mbah Kahir is a respected swordsman of Pencak Silat. In the mid-XVIII century (approximately 1760), Mbah Kahir first introduced to his disciples martial arts. Therefore, he is considered the first teacher of Silat Cimande. Betawi hero is Si Pitung is also believed to come from this martial arts school. Mbah Khair also has a student named Mbah Datuk and Mbah Jago from West Sumatra. Then they spread Cimande silat where they came from, so it can be said that Pencak Silat Cimande is the elder brother of Pencak Silat, including Silek Minang originating from West Sumatra.
