Sundanese Character and Culture

• Cageur. This word contains a healthy meaning both physically and spiritually. Common sense is in a healthy soul. The Sundanese are required to have health in thinking, health in opinion, behaviorally healthy and always distanced themselves from thinking badly to others.
  Bageur. This word contains a good sense of heart, has a high sense of affection to human beings, not stingy, not easy emotions, have a life of help and sincere in running life.

• Beneur. This word contains nimble and clever use of momentum. This word is also often translated skillfully in solving every problem encountered. The Sundanese will be full of introspection even though it does not mean always anxious, understand on every task given, likes to prioritize the interests of others before himself, clever and accustomed to appreciate the opinions of others.

• Singeur. This word contains honest meaning, does not like to lie, does not do something random, trustworthy, straight to practice religion, right in lead, trade, not fake or reduce scales, and do not damage nature.

• Pinteur. This word implies that the Sundanese must have good knowledge of the world and the hereafter. In practice, the Sundanese generally remain tolerant of anyone with different beliefs, good at adapting to others, good at pointing out and tidying up witty issues wisely, and not being clever enough to let alone cornering others.

Sundanese are famous nyantri, nyunda, and nyakola.

• Nyantri in Sundanese concept means an individual has a virtue of ahlak-ahlak commendable which is transcendent nature between himself and the Owner of the Universe. If the concept of transcendence is flowing kaffah in an individual then it may be said that the individual has the nature nyantri (santri in the Indonesian language).

• Nyunda Meaning that if confessed as Sundanese then all actions, speech, mindset, even the expression of his face must reflect that individual is tribe of Sundanese.

• Nyakola in Sundanese concept does not mean having to go to school and must graduate from high school. Because of the fact that individual high school graduates are sometimes not always in line with all the mindsets and behaviors that even reflect uneducated behavior. But the concept of nyakola is a form of attitude and behavior that reflects as an educated, though he never studied in formal school. Reflects a cultured person even though he or she has never received formal cultural education.
