Our community had another amazing week with our wonderful members. Archdruid Gaming is focused around quality and we are always on the hunt looking for undervalued gaming content.

This is our second week of Author Showcase. Where members ranked Gamer or higher in our community that shared their posts with us on discord where looked into. With the aim to find and bring attention to those with an exceptional post that made it. Quite a few factors are looked into to make the cut: uniqueness, quality, effort, passion, “it” factor, among some other things as well.

Author 1

@Henryn2020 is known for creating very visually pleasing to the eye posts. You can tell the great attention to detail is included in formatting. He will use images, gifs, and custom headers to lure the reader’s eye further deeper into them. They always have a wonderful flow to them with using left or right alignment for images along with centered when needed.

In his post Dragon's Dogma you can see these elements play out throughout the game review. He found an excellent balance between explaining things but not overwhelming the reader with too much information. You can see this in the way he explains the nine classes of the game and breaks them down from basic to hybrid. He also shares quite a few insights into what players might be interested in. Such as, how to travel around the map, equipment, and shares his personal opinion on the soundtrack for the game.

@Pipiczech is starting to build quite the reputation for her honest game reviews. She is not afraid to tell the reader what is on her mind good or bad when it comes to a game title. She will also include further details in things that might affect bias toward something so the reader and potential buyer can weight in for their own decision making of getting a game or not. These things overall make her posts a very solid source when trying to determine if you want to buy a game or not.

In a recent game review Life is Strange: Before the Storm she clues the reader into knowing she was expecting more chapters and will do her best to not allow the previous experience of gameplay affect how she reviews this game. She takes the reader on a journey from her own point of view. Showcasing different elements including the basics of how to interact with the world and even her own choices made throughout her play. She even tailored this review towards the demographic that might enjoy it the most by including an emotional rating at the end and giving insight along the way about the story.

Author 3

@Gamersclassified always has something a little different each time you check out his blog. It could be anything from taking a deeper dive into upcoming changes for a beloved game or even what is going on in the gaming industry. You could even learn a little more about what is going on in Australia as far as gaming is concerned. He is a great source to get gaming news, reviews, interviews, and so much more.

Recently he conducted an interview with Alex Bertie regarding a game called Beats of Balance that is entering the Australia market. In it, he proves he has amazing intervening skills by including detailed questions with examples to help guide along the conversion. He also did not hold back in asking the harder questions regarding the future of tabletop style of games. He got back some amazing responses from the interviewee as a result of his efforts.

@Thegarbageman has one of those names you wonder what you are about to read and get into. Before you know you will have laughing lines and tears of joy as he layered in some wonderful comic relief in his game reviews. He is not someone to hold back his language and just lets it all out. For those who want some flavor in your text, this is a great place to find it.

If the spinning garbage can as a way to break the ice and get the reader ready for the laughs in The Sith Lord Gaming Garbage Man Reviews is not an enough of an indication. Perhaps his advice to “strap in” is. You have spun on dead internet memes to hilarious movie-style posters to keep you entertained in this game review. He gives you a full break down on what makes this game so amazing while trying to forget all the garbage that has plagued the Star Wars franchise over the years. For any true Star Wars fan, this game review is worth checking out.

@Stefanonsense is a creator who enjoys using dlive and other forms video format to showcase different kinds of games. He has an amazing personality and it really shows well in his videos and his level of production in them. You can find a number of different things from this creator from tips, guides, and even reviews. If it has geek written all over it you can expect him to be nearby.

Are you in the market to find some great deals that are going on over on Steam during the summer sale? Well, then he has you covered in his Steam Summer Sale 2018 guide. He finds you some great deals on games ranging from 50% to 80% off by providing a short description and a link out to his videos that proved an in-depth review of the game itself. A quick and easy way to find a game you perhaps have never heard of or have overlooked.

@Zakludick has a passion for old style action role-playing games. He enjoys showing a game by providing a walkthrough of it in bite-size chunks that he puts out on at least weekly bases in a written episode form. They are filled with such detail and excitement you will be left remembering the good old days of gaming.

Going down memory lane he is currently playing Diablo 2. In Act 2, Episode 2 we get to find out what Steemcules has been up to as of late. The post has a wonderful page divider to really bring that old style feeling to this post. Along the way you get to see what quests he has done, major fights he encounters and some tricks along the way. A must-read for those who wish to revisit their childhood in a good way.

@Colovhis is a bilingual author who writes in both English and Spanish. He likes to write gaming reviews and will provide separate posts for each language to reach a wider audience. His style of review is providing a shortened version of his walkthrough and then having a separate section that addresses strengths and weakness the game had. He also includes custom headers to tie the post from an aesthetic standpoint together that creates a nice flow of things.

In his review of Lonewolf ( English / Spanish ) He goes over his 5 chapter walkthrough showing the different challenges and missions the main character entails on his journey thought out the game. He then breaks down the gameplay that goes over the core elements of the game and what you should expect. This is then followed by what he enjoyed most and what needed improvements before ending with his final thoughts.

Author 8

@Tyronee is another bilingual author who writes in both English and Spanish. His style of review tends to look even beyond the game itself and focuses on the history behind things. This could include history about the developer, the genre, or even the events that transpire inside of the game. It adds quite a unique feeling and interesting take along with his review of the game.

We can see how this plays out in his review of Age Of Empires II ( English / Spanish ). He starts off by giving you some comparable in other games around this time that were amazing. He then explores some of the history and lore behind the game itself which makes his review rather unique in this kind of approach. He ends with a brief overview of the game. With the main focus being on the history and lore of the game this provides what is often lacking in a game review for those who enjoy history and story.

Author 9

@Freddbrito is another bilingual author who writes in both English and Spanish. He mainly focuses on reviewing retro games. He likes to bring a certain flair and tie-in with using gifs and graphics headers to break up the page. There is also some throwback to retro that can be seen sprinkled throughout the posts.

In Devil May Cry 2 (English / Spanish ) he reviews now a game consider retro that not everyone is aware about. He looks at different aspects of the game from the storytelling, retrospectively how the graphics are, and even goes into his opinion on the soundtracks. Finally, he closes out going over the gameplay mechanics and such things as long ranged weapons in the game.

Author 10

@Gamingstation is back to defend his throne of being showcased for another week! He is an author that focuses on quality over quantity and finds interesting topics to highlight. He brings discussion forward using the medium of video games in a number of ways. Often times he is looking to highlight a specific quirk in a video game or the industry as a whole.

We can see such a case in Top 10 One Hit Wonder with the focus on developers who so far only had one really great performing game. He goes over what makes some of these developers and there titles amazing. Why it appears many will forever be just a one-hit wonder. He also gives insights into possible opportunities for some of the developer to have another success. Finally, he opens the discussion up for anyone who wishes to add to the conversion.
