Death on your back (digital illustration step by step)

PORTADA.jpg

Hello friends, I show you the step by step of this illustration that I made some time ago as a conceptual art of the work I'm creating.
We can witness a high-ranking soldier (General perhaps) in his command center about to be vilely murdered by a biped being that looks like from another planet.
I hope you like the design process.

First the sketch is designed, coarse lines that will serve as a basis for what comes next.

2.jpg

Then I retouch with the main lineart, usually I only apply it to the characters, the rest of the stage doesn't usually apply it.

3.jpg

I apply the base color, and I start texturing the walls.

4.jpg

With a layer in ''multiply'' mode I apply the shadows to give the sensation that they are in a room with little light, I place more textures of screens and brush strokes for the lights.

5.jpg

I finish giving some illuminations and here ends the process in Paint tool SAI, now let's go to Photoshop.

6.jpg

In Photoshop apply and regulate the Gaussian blur to give a sense of depth to the room and mystery to the individual who carries the weapon.

RESOL.jpg

I finish adjusting the colors and apply other additional lighting and ready, work done!

It is hard to be believe that this general was murdered by this creatures as it looks like a teddy bear so it makes me feel of positive things more than the negative ones :) Just joking of course!

It's a very nice illustration. I like this futuristic theme and I assume that they are somewhere on a galactic ship flying in the space. I wonder if he let him turn around before he shot him :)

Thank you for sharing! Have a nice day!

Hey, @ferjar. This is getting better and better, hermano.
Nothing to envy from any digital artist of renown.
It's amazing how the treatment of lights add so much to the composition. Even the feelings or reactions one may have to it get manipulated as you changed or added colors and lights.
Really neat work you're doing.
