Ra.h - Timepops

Ra.H aka Morphosis has been crafting away in the nether-regions of the techno underworld since the 90s. Whilst his productions join the dots between raw, elementary electronica and jazz, for the last six years his label Morphine Records has released an equally avant guard selection of techno from the likes of Madteo, Hieroglyphic Being and Anthony "Shake" Shakir.

El Michels Affair - Unathi b/w Zaharila

El Michels Affair have always been one of my favorite modern funk/soul groups since I first started listening to funk and soul music. Largely being, they never fell into the trappings of say, Poets of Rhythm or countless other bands like them who basically tried to remake James Brown tunes and instead of using funk and soul music as a foundation to make original music (or covers of Wu-Tang or Issac Hayes).

Bach - Brandenburg Concerto No. 6 in B-flat major

The 6th (and last) of the Brandenburg concerti by JS Bach is my favourite of the Brandenburg concerti. Written for two solo violas, two viola da gambas, one cello, violone and continuo, it is a superb Bassy alto sound. A warm and sonorous tone with no treble instruments.

James Blake - Don't Miss It

I haven't done a deep dive into James Blake's stuff, but I'm a fan of this new one he released a couple weeks ago on Polydor. Minimalistic in its instrumental arrangements, but complex in the way that James dances with his voice. An interesting approach to a music video too.
