At @TheNewAlchemists we feature the “whole artist”.

We want to get steem artists long-term followers, not just single upvotes (although those are nice too!). Find out more about our work in creative placemaking, our commitment to storytelling, and our belief that great art transcends language.

Every week our roster of curators will select artists, in any artistic category they wish to work in, to feature in the ArtSearch curation initiative.

We are working with a roster of 10 curators currently, and hope to build our roster to 14 regular curators within the next month. Submit your application here if you are interested in joining our growing community. And now...here we go!

ArtSearch | Visual Arts with @lymepoet, English

Hi, I’m @lymepoet, and I am a self taught artist who uses art as pain management therapy! I’m also a ghost writer, author, poet and Lyme disease advocate.

My favourite medium to work with is acrylic paint, but I also do watercolor and pencil drawing. For me, art is cathartic, it's a a way to translate my emotions into a visual form. As an expression of the human thoughts, art needs no words. It’s the universal language that speaks to one’s soul, touching his conscience and his heart.

This week I focused on visual artists who embraced more than one form of art. I found 5 artists that I am excited to share with you today.

Introducing @diyendan, a Nigerian multi talented artist who expresses himself through various forms of art.

I was impressed by his vibrant paintings and his multiple skills. Despite his young age he seems to have found his path and his vision. He draws, paints and he is a sculptor. His creative artworks are impressive as he explores drawing with charcoal and paints using different mediums. Check out his blog and see it for yourself!

Introducing @enmaart: an Italian architect and designer with a passion for drawing.

I was mesmerized by this artist’s great drawing skills. Most of his beautiful artworks are done using the pointillism technique. He’s what I’d call an artivist, as his each one of his drawings conveys a message. I invite you to visit his blog and read his posts which are always bilingual (Italian and English).

Introducing @antonietartt, a plastic artist from Venezuela who creates unique drawings and paintings.

Her blog offers a great mix of art and creative writing, as she presents her creations (paintings and collages) with a touching message. She uses watercolors and some of her artworks are surreal. Go visit her blog and show her some love.

Introducing @scrawly, an Australian-based artist who found her inspiration in manga and animation.

I was pleasantly surprised by her creativity as she is exploring different styles and formats.
On her blog you can find some great sketches and drawings. Her posts present each step of the process from the concept to realization. @scrawly is looking to grow as an artist and discover other inspiring creative souls.

Introducing @artisani, a German artist who uses art as an expression of inner feelings and emotional constellations.

I was blown away by the wide array of art forms that she is creating: paintings, woodobjects, photographs and portraits, poems and song lyrics. Her art is unique because it is tactile and touchable unlike most of the other artists’ artworks. She creates art for different senses at the time.

And those are the artists I have to share with you today!

Thank you for stopping by, I appreciate your support of Steem art. As a curator, I believe that the power of art consists in crossing borders and imagine the un-imagined, transforming it into a piece of reality which can have educational, social and economical benefits.

I am looking for new artists willing to grow and help others grow by teaching their skill. I am searching for art related posts showcasing your artwork and describing the steps of the process because it can help others learn.

You can find my curating proposal here.

ArtSearch is an ongoing curation initiative working in any artistic medium and in any language. If you are interested, you may read our curation standards below:

(1) We will curate for quality first and foremost. We believe artists should take the time to create a well thought-out and formatted post to feature their work. It is good business practice, and the number one rule of self-marketing. We want to empower artists who are ready to invest in themselves as entrepreneurs.

(2) We believe "artist" is synonymous with "creative”. We loosely define an artist as anyone working creatively and demonstrating a high level of artistry in their work in any sector!

(3) We believe in featuring the "whole artist" as opposed to a single post. We want to help artists get long-term followers, not single upvotes (although those are nice too).

(4) We believe art is a "practice”. We will feature artists who show a commitment to growth and development (i.e. a new account that is continually/quickly getter stronger is more interesting to us than an "established" account that is not advancing).

(5) We believe art is tied to the world in which we live. We will prioritize showcasing artists whose work is a reflection of society, or a commentary on it (i.e. art with a message, purpose, or mission) and artists who are underrepresented in mainstream "art" sectors.

(6) We believe in sharing your story and/or your process. We are here to help artists thrive, which means helping to build a community of support for what you are doing. Sharing your story, and your process lets people into your world (and lets us know you're ready to do the extra work it takes to run a terrific blog/business).

(7) We believe art transcends language. If a post is well-written, well-formatted, and features inspiring art we will curate it regardless of whether it is in English.

Thanks again for stopping by, we appreciate you being here!

@tipu upvote this post

Sorry, @tipU needs to recover voting power - will be back in 18 hours and 21 minutes. Please try then!

Its rare to find detailed information on art and artists in a single post. Yes art is expression of thoughts but its equally important how easily the viewer understands. This post should reach more artists and those who dream creativity.

congratulations to the already curated names.
