Cyberpunk 2077

in #cyberpunk20776 years ago

One of the most anticipated game in the last 5+ years has been Cyberpunk 2077 by CD Project Red, a polish video game publisher and distributor who has brought us the amazing Witcher series.

They created one Teaser Trailer which was uploaded to youtube on January 10th 2013 that has received over 12 million views with the song Bullets by Archive.

Tonight they released another trailer that fans have been waiting for so many years, here is the official E3 trailer for Cyberpunk 2077.

There was also a bonus hidden message by CDPR in the background of the reveal.

Thanks to Reddit user Fizrock for the quoting of the text:

It's been over 2077 days since we announced our plan to develop Cyberpunk 2077. We released a CGI trailer, gave some interviews and... went dark. Normal procedure for these kinds of things - you announce a game and then shut up, roll up your sleeves, and go to work. We wanted to give you The Witcher 3 and both expansions first, which is why this period of staying silent was longer than we planned. Sorry for that.

As soon as we concluded work on Blood and Wine we were able to go full speed ahead with CP2077's pre-production. But we chose to remain silent. Why? At some point, we made a decision to resume talking about the game only when we have something to show. Something meaningful and substantial. This is because we do realise you've been (im)patiently waiting for a very long time, and we wouldn't want anyone to feel that we're taking this for granted. On the contrary - it gives us a lot of extra motivation. The hype is real, so the sweat and tears need to be real, too :).

But to the point. Today is the day. If you're seeing this, it means you saw the trailer - our vision of Cyberpunk, an alternative version of the future where America is in pieces, megacorporations control all aspects of civilised life, and gangs rule the rest. And, while this world is full of adrenaline, don't let the car chases and guns mislead you. Cyberpunk 2077 is a true single player, story-driven RPG. You'll be able to create your own character and..., well, you'll get to know the rest from what we show at our booth at E3. Be on the lookout for previews!

Before we finish, you probably have some questions, right?

When? When we told you we would only release the game when it's ready, we meant it. We're definitely much, much closer to a release date than we were back then :), but it's still not the time to confirm anything, so patience is still required. Quality is the only thing that drives us - it's the beauty of being an independent studio and your own publisher.

How big? Seriously big, but..., to be honest, we have no bloody clue at this point in time. Once we put it all together, we will openly tell you what you can expect. And we promise we'll do this before we start talking about any pre-orders or ask anything of you.

Free DLC/Expansions/DRM? Expect nothing less than you got with The Witcher 3. As for DRM, CP2077 will be 100% DRM-free on PC.

Microtransactions? In a single player role-playing game? Are you nuts?

Once again, thank you for your patience. If you have a minute, do visit cyberpunk.net and share your opinion (about anything) with us. We read everything you post and we treat it very seriously.

Yours, CD PROJEKT RED Team

I have to say, I am so hyped for this game. This will be something special combined with the long wait and the nostalgia of the first trailer and knowing how well CDPR have done with the Witcher series I have high hopes that this will be an amazing game. Hopefully it won't take too long for it to arrive.

It is amazing at the same time to see how gaming performances and visuals have evolved over the years, at the time of the release of the Teaser most people couldn't even dream of the game having similar gameplay to a Trailer, but here we are coming closer to photo-reality step by step. What a time to be alive for gamers and especially for PC gamers. ;)

As a former avid cyberpunk 2020 player I absolutely can't wait! And I'm so happy it's them working on it! Just perfect.

thank you dear @pharesim
i am very grateful to you

Glad I landed here guys. Looks like a interesting game :-) I loved the Witcher . Didn’t know , that they had made this cool game. And working on another part of it. Looking forward to have some fun with it 👍✌️

dear @pharesimJust thank you not to repay your debt. I need your cooperation and amity. Because you have a lot of value to me, I always hope for your cooperation

Looks amazing I'm just glad they are taking their time with it. Too many games feel so rush out these days. Even more so when 6 months later it feels like finally a game was “fully” released. As such if it takes them a while I more than understand. I have a couple now I’m waiting on and things always take longer then they expect. I rather have them not rush and put out something not so great. I really like they have not been trying over hype things either. Far too many games hype and hype to the point no one going be happy with the game because they over hype it to death.

If there's a studio whose work you can be safe getting hyped about, it is CD Projekt RED. If I were the type to pirate games, they would be the studio I'd simply refuse to pirate from on basis of principle.

Gamers have been let down over and over and over again in recent years; especially single-player gamers as multiplayer and microtransactions have taken centre stage. It seems that with this latest announcement they're committed to upholding their usual stances on DRM and microtransactions, and I couldn't be more excited about that.

Agreed there are very few developers remaining that I would trust to not mess it up. Most of them these days seem to be the smaller studios. They seem to understand the markets better then the big cash guzzling places that should know better by now.

Fingers crossed for this.
The hype is really getting heated everywhere.
Based on project red's reputation, I belive cyberpunk 2077 will live up to the hype and beat expectations

The trailer came out during a completely different period of my life, man. Back when I played games all day. I have been waiting for this game... too long.

One of those rare games I'm truly hyped about, but the wait will again be too damn long.

Man i remember when i saw the first trailer, the music and all was just amazing but never saw more of it for years! I thought it was just cancelled or something but it's not! Now the hype gets intense, also gotta watch the Bethesda conference rn!

It looks like it will be pretty fucking dope.

The real issue at hand here is the question of if you'll be able to take a break from CS:GO for a few days to play through it :P

Haha....true
acidyo seems to be pretty hooked unto CS:GO

whoooaaa man. that trailer was slick.

My prediction is open world style ala GTA5, the ability to align to different factions; and be hated by others, and the emergent story telling an open world is meant to deliver.

I am so hyped for this game. Post-human settings making some of the best science fiction, and the peroid of transition is always filled with moral dilemna, drama and intrigue.

I'm hyped for this game so much!

Seems like a fun game! Nice graphics! :)
