JIS-CTF Walkthrough - Privilege Escalation on Linux [Part 2]
In this walkthrough video we're going to do privilege escalation on a box that we've previously managed to get our way in. We've been able to obtain access on this machine by exploiting weak administrator credentials, as well as arbitrary file upload vulnerability.
For the first part of this machine - getting inside the server, look at this post.
So, we are inside the server as an unprivileged user and in this video we're going to look at ways on how to escalate our privileges to obtain root and own the machine.
So, as a reminder, we're practicing safely and legally by downloading vulnerable machines from vulnhub.com, running them inside Virtualbox and trying to own them from Kali Linux.
