Mountain biking California, happy 4th of July
This morning I wanted to ride at Stevens Canyon, but looked up at the western mountains only to see the fog rolling over the ridge. I did not feel like being cold, so opted for Rancho San Vicente and Santa Theresa County Park instead.
Calero reservoir was quite choppy this morning with 20+ mph winds.
The ride was 21 miles and 1300 feet of climbing.

Breakfast of overnight oats in Organic vanilla soy milk, agave syrup, strawberries and a banana. Fresh ground Peet's Major Dickinson blend, dripped / black.
Some may have seen this same shot a few months ago when everything was green. Well now that it's summer, many of the weeds/plants have turned to a golden brown.
On the way back, I chatted with a guy with a brand new Ibis Ripmo. (He was an older guy) I mentioned that he was an older guy because this bike is NOT cheap, some may say that it is unaffordable. (I don't think some high school kids will be purchasing this bike)
So here is the top of the line build for the Ripmo from the Ibis site, XX1 for 'only' $9399. It is a long travel 29'er that can pretty much go down almost anything short of a pure DH trail.
Since it is the 4th of July in the USA, I had some BBQ for dinner, Teriyaki beef, chicken, marinated cucumbers over rice and corn.

Happy 4th of July! That is among the most expensive bikes on the market today, especially for a DH bike, 160 mm travel! Thanks for sharing your ride (and your fuel)!
I'd like to demo one of these. Ibis is in Santa Cruz and about 35 minute drive away. $20 to rent a bike for a day...
you could rent the bike for 1 year and 3 months and it would still be cheaper than buying....

For the epic if the color of the plants has changed is golden brown but is spectacular and very beautiful for the summer season...
