Death's Goblet
When a newborn takes its first breathe,
It's cup forms,
Fills with the liquid of death,
Pure black.
As the newborn grows,
takes risks in its life,
It's soul sips from the Goblet filled with Deaths' Poison.
As the final sip has been sipped,
The newborn,
Now old,
Dies.
As the dead see what it's soul sees,
It sees it's Goblet,
Empty....
I really like the image that you are creating here. A manifestation of death that is slowly drained throughout life. Reminds me of that saying "as as soon as we are born we start dying" - morbid but true.
It may be interesting to explore the outliers to this system. What if someone dies and sees their cup is still full? What would that mean? Thanks for the food for thought!
