Decentralized 2018, A Must Attend Blockchain Conference in Athens, Greece
Have you ever had a good gut feeling? a strong desire to take a shot at something and it works out? I bet it felt great. Imagine you just minding your own business and a friend walks up to tell you about a piece of property being sold dirt cheap. Apparently the owner is having a "very happy day" and wants to "show love to the world". Now you would agree that even though this is possible, the odds of it happening are very slim, much more less happening to YOU. But let's change the variables. Why rely on luck when you can be smart and rely on knowledge? Every day real estate agents facilitate the purchase of cheap properties across the world and some of them do get to sell those same properties for over 1000 times the price after some time. So are they lucky? No. I think they are prepared.
In 2009, a lot of "geeks" and cyberpunks tried to proliferate the use of Bitcoin. They told friends and family, gave out free Bitcoin, one guy even bought pizza with 10,000 Bitcoins. Many people rejected Bitcoin. Some called it a scam, many didn't understand it. Even a reputable Warren Buffet said it would fail.
Ignorance has always been a great hindrance to advancement in our lives. The world of technology and Finance is no exception. If you could go back in time I'm guessing you would stack up thousands of Bitcoin because you NOW KNOW that it is digital gold.
But it's not too late. The decentralized world of the blockchain and cryptocurrency is just teething and anyone can still be a part of it. However, to excel you need to be equipped with the right knowledge. At the very least you need to know how to differentiate between a viable project and a whitepaper full of lies.
The University of Nicosia will be hosting a blockchain conference dubbed "Decentralized 2018" from November 14-16, 2018 at the Divani Caravel, Athens, Greece. The aim of this conference is to provide an avenue for exchanging knowledge and ideas on the innovative business and political implications of blockchain technologies.
The University of Nicosia is the largest university in Cyprus. While its main campus is located in Nicosia, the capital of Cyprus, it also runs study centers in Athens, Bucharest and New York City. They are very focused on the possibilities of the blockchain and the have a track record of "firsts" when it comes to blockchain innovation. For example,

This isn't the first Decentralized event. Last year a similar conference was held and it had a great turn out with positive effects. Great personalities in the crypto space showed up and some of them were speakers sharing their knowledge(and a few hot tips) to the attentive audience.
