This was awesome to read! I sell stuff online, so I have SO much stuff. I can relate to this post. It's important to me, too, to find a home for the stuff I'm purging. I've seen too many mountains of stuff at thrift stores that nobody wants.

Yeah, a thrift store is really a last resort for me, as far as where stuff goes. And then, only to where I know the profits are for a cause.
I've also come to figure out which thrifts to donate which stuff to. VHS tapes aren't a good thing to donate to some thrifts, etc. Our craigslist free section is very active, however, and people will come pick up just about anything if it's free. I'm getting ready to give away a bunch of hangers that way. I find that's a bad thing to give to a thrift store.
