Stanley Arts Festival Kick-off Party

So I was recently given the opportunity to be a Yelp Elite- one of the great things about the title is you get invited to free parties! If you are curious about being a Yelp Elite, there's more information to be found here.

Such a great evening! The highlight of the night was absolutely the dancers from Mudra dance studio- they were so high energy and fun, and they gave a little mini group lesson at the end that provided some education about traditional Indian dancing.
I also appreciated the chance to use screen printing techniques to create a reusable bag- the person running the stand was super knowledgeable about the technique, and the bag turned out great!
Food and drinks were also fantastic- loved the polenta squares with BBQ pork and the mini pecan pies. Ketel One's new botanical vodkas were great with club soda, or in the cucumber lime mojito that the bartender graciously whipped up for me.
I was so impressed by the featured artists- Scott Hildebrandt created small electrified scenes in retro found objects like radios, alarm clocks, and vacuum parts. Ana Maria Botero created 3D floral pieces out of pieces of glass that were mind blowing up close. Shara Oliman used thousands of scraps of paper to create collages that from far away looked like master oil paintings. We had a great conversation with her about her creative process and her studio!
Overall, a fantastic event for a great cause!

I also created some gifs of my favorite art from the party. Scott Hildebrandt creates small scenes that are commonly electrified in retro found objects, like alarm clocks and vacuum parts. They were awesome!

Overall, I am super excited to have been named Elite, and hope to attend some more events soon!
