Larvas de la polilla conocida como Hylesia sp, El contacto de esta larva con la piel del hombre produce una irritante reacción o dermatitis. También en su fase adulta puede desprender de sus alas un polvillo que origina inflamación de la conjuntiva del ojo o conjuntivitis, esta situación me afecto en Yaguaraparo-Sucre-Venezuela.
