DESIGN FOR FREE

We all know that Upwork and other similar design services are pretty good if you want to have mediocre work for virtually no money. Sometimes you can get even good work, but this normally comes with a price tag. But if you need something great, emailing your design brief to India may not be enough.

For a professional designer, a 20-euro hourly salary is just not enough to keep a business rolling, not to mention 10 or 5 euros per hour. Great designers keep learning, go to exhibitions, read, test different techniques and concepts. Networking and keeping themselves up-to-date is not free and it takes loads of time. However, without all that knowledge it’s very difficult to be great. If you invest a lot in your product, it is reflected in the price.

Someone who has never bought design before may find low prices tempting. But if you are new to professional design and if you can’t tell good design from bad, you seriously want to have a professional to help you find out what you really need.

On the other hand, if you know exactly what you need, then go for it.

If design is just one of your problems and you have a lot of other things to solve, you may want your designer to understand your goals and dreams, not just make irrelevant beautiful things that actually do not take you where you want.
