This could solve all of our problems!

I've been firmly against this idea for quite some time, but after reading a few amazing posts and comments on the subject, I've changed my mind.

What I'm referring to is the idea of Ads on Steemit.com.

At first, it seems like a horrible idea.. right?

Ads seem so crude and they seem like they would dilute the value of the Steemit interface.

In fact, it's the opposite.

If Ads are done right (and that's the key part to this equation), then we can see a massive value to the Steem community from them.

Now, Ads can be done on any interface, not just Steemit.

I'm going to talk about doing Ads on Steemit because that's the topic of discussion as of late.

Steemit is having revenue issues. The problem is, they don't have any revenue.

Their business model is no business model, to be fully honest. Whoever is operating that business is severely lacking in capitalistic nature and the fundamentals of economics ;) ;) hint hint.

If ads are done right on Steemit, then the company can raise a lot of capital in terms of FIAT money, which solves the issue of low STEEM prices in this crypto winter.

Additionally, they could decentralize the earnings and distribute the ad revenue to everyone on the Steem blockchain, proportional to their stake.

This adds a WHOLE SLEW of benefits to being a STEEM POWER holder and thus, should drive demand for buying and hodling the STEEM token --> economics at work, people!

Yes, the rich would get richer. Sorry, that's just the nature of the beast of economics and capitalism.

The rich have to get richer. But those who don't have a lot will still earn as well. Steemit would earn a large majority of this ad revenue because of the size of their stake and they could use their portion to pay for costs.

Think about it. This could solve A LOT of economic issues on the Steem blockchain. We could even somehow distribute portions of the ad revenue to individual bloggers. This would help even out the distribution from those who have a large stake to those who have a smaller stake.

Everyone wins.
